The oil-sealed downhole motor is a specialized positive-displacement downhole power device featuring an advanced oil-sealed lubrication and sealing system. Distinguished from conventional grease-lubricated downhole motors, it adopts a closed oil circulation system for key rotating components (e.g., bearings, transmission shaft) and integrates high-performance sealing elements (e.g., mechanical seals, lip seals). This motor efficiently converts the hydraulic energy of drilling fluid into stable mechanical rotational energy to drive the drill bit, while the oil-sealed system effectively isolates drilling fluid, formation fluids, and solid particles from internal lubrication components, ensuring reliable lubrication and preventing premature component wear.

Application Scenarios:


This motor is primarily applied in drilling projects with harsh downhole environments that demand superior sealing and lubrication performance. It is widely utilized in directional drilling, horizontal drilling, and deep/ultra-deep well drilling operations in high-temperature and high-pressure (HTHP) reservoirs, as well as in formations containing corrosive media (e.g., H₂S, CO₂) or high-salinity formation brines. Additionally, it is suitable for drilling operations using contaminated drilling fluids (with high solid content) and offshore oil and gas drilling projects where seawater intrusion risks exist. The motor also plays a critical role in unconventional resource development projects (e.g., deep shale gas, tight oil) and long-horizontal-section drilling operations, where long-term reliable operation of downhole motors is essential for ensuring drilling efficiency.
